Voluntary Sector Support
We are here to help and support all voluntary and community groups and activities in the Borough of Hinckley & Bosworth.
We do this in a number of ways:
- Representation: we represent the local voluntary and community sector on local partnerships and forums. In order to do this effectively we regularly consult the voluntary and community sector on statutory agencies' policies and changes to the services that they deliver. In return we feed back information, ideas and thoughts from the voluntary and community sector to statutory agencies and local authorities.
- Membership: we have around 80 members who have an opportunity to feed into the way VAH&B is run and developed.
- Directory: we maintain a directory and database of all local voluntary organisations and groups. This is updated regularly.
- Development: we help in the formation of local groups, voluntary projects and volunteering opportunities in response to local need.
- Funding: we help local groups and organisations to source and apply for funds for their activities.
- We hold regular networking meetings of both the voluntary sector VOICE and the wider voluntary and statutory sector (Community Network). These provide all an opportunity to get together, information exchange and keep up to date with latest developments.
