Neighbourhood Watch
Would you like to join a Neighbourhood Watch Scheme or even start your own scheme?
There are lots of NHW Schemes being set up within Bagworth and Thornton. If you would like to join an existing group or set up your own group please contact me on the details below.
It is very easy to set up your own scheme with your neighbours and only takes a few minutes a week to circulate the crime information provided by the Police as well as more general community focused information provided by relevant agencies.
If there is a scheme near you which already exists it maybe worthwhile joining that scheme .
As the Neighbourhood Watch Development Officer for the Parish I can also take forward any concerns or queries you may have to the Police, so again please contact me on the details below if I can help in anyway.
I look forward to hearing from you and together we can make our Parish a safer place to live!

Health & Wellbeing
A SECOND wellbeing day is being planned thanks to the runaway success of the first. Members of Bagworth and Thornton Parish Plan Group arranged one in Bagworth after residents told them about the difficulties they had reaching their doctor.
The event at Bagworth Community Hall featured blood pressure checks, advice about weight management, nutrition and advice on stopping smoking. Nurse Jan Strefford gave more than 150 blood sugar tests to check for diabetes as well as advising on cholesterol levels. There were people on hand to demonstrate healthy cooking and tempt the palate with a nutritionally-sound juice bar and fruit kebabs. Sports officers encouraged people to become more active and the adult education service promoted courses. Joanne Brown, chairman of the parish plan group, said: “It was so busy it was wonderful. I just hope it is as successful at Thornton.” Both days are being funded with a £3,000 grant obtained from Hinckley and Bosworth Community Forum.
The next Wellbeing day will be held at Thornton Community Centre on 23 September 2010 from 3.00 pm until 7.00 pm.
