What do you want for YOUR playspace?
The initial stage of the play area consultation for the Playbuilder funding has finished - thank you to everyone who gave their views.
The information was collated and a design brief made from these.
We have met with 3 experienced play space designers; Proludic Ltd, Wicksteed Playscapes and Sutcliffe Play who have the brief and visited the site.
If we are successful in obtaining the funding the next stage of consultation will go ahead. We intend identifying a focus group of children & young people, parents and community members to look into the designs and visit other play areas with the equipment from the designers – to take photos, video and give their experiences to bring back for wider consultation.
The designs will then be available online and a number of community meetings held for a wider consultation in choosing the final play space and planning a launch.
Funding will then be available to the successful applicants from April 2010 and play spaces will need to be open to the public by 31st March 2011.
