£500 was donated from the Hinckley Fire Station Rudolph Fund
The 2009 Christmas Appeal has been a tremendous success thanks not least to the involvement of so many Hinckley & Bosworth people. With Worklink’s staff and Volunteers now out in the district delivering the food and toy parcels, Howard Crane of Voluntary Action Hinckley and Bosworth said: “We would like to say a Huge ‘Thank You’ to everyone who has supported our Christmas Appeal on behalf of the hundreds of children and individuals who will now be able to have a wonderful Christmas. I would also like to thank the people and organisations, who have participated in the Appeal for their enthusiastic commitment and involvement throughout including; HBBC for providing the wheelie bins; all of the organisations who have hosted the collection points and helped promote the appeal; the organisations and individuals who have so generously given financial donations; the Co-op for providing discounts on purchases; SureStart for all their help and for organising the children’s parties; the churches and congregations for supporting our appeal at their services; Worklink for collecting up the many donations and delivering the parcels across the Borough; the Hinckley Times for promoting the appeal so successfully; Judy, our appeal volunteer; and Yvonne and the Team at Voluntary Action Hinckley and Bosworth for all their hard work in organising the Appeal; and not least of all, the kind people who have donated so generously to our Appeal. Thanks to all of you, we are supporting nearly 400 children and families with toys and gifts and nearly 200 families and single people with food parcels, making a huge difference to their Christmas and lives”.
